Wildwood students and staff have some traditions they institute during the month of February. The kindergarten class has a wedding. Yes, a wedding. They "marry" the letters q and u in a formal ceremony complete with flower girl, bridesmaids, groomsman, and a reception. This is part of the Phonics Dance program the teachers use to help the students remember letter names, sounds, and letter combinations. Of course the parents and the third grade buddies come to be the friends and family. In addition to the marriage of q and u, each classroom celebrates with their own party complete with treats and passing out of valentines.
